Microsoft Office is finally available for iPad with touch-friendly applications for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It is also free for Office 365 subscribers.
I must say the preview video does make it look very appealing, with a simple layout and easy to use functionality. And, apaprently, it has already made it in to the top 10 of the App store chart.
This is good news for Microsoft, as some have questions whether most users are, by now, accustomed to other applications or whatever work-arounds they have devised. On the other hand, I suppose there is very little getting away from Microsoft products in most work environments.
An additional word on the whole "free for Office 365 subscribers" point: it is free for all users to download but this is limited to a read-only view.
